About the ALTO

Designed by Mike Arnold, the ALTO is a fast, two person, single trapeze, asymmetric dinghy (PY 921).
It is exciting and fun, challenging yet controllable.

The ALTO is a dinghy that gives performance across the wind range and whether light winds, perfect conditions or Force 6, you can be out there racing and enjoying a dinghy that is responsive and rewarding.

The ALTO is designed for a combined crew weight between 130kg and 200kg. The rig is easily powered up or de-powered to suit the weight and/or experience of the team.

See what ALTO sailors say…

“We wanted a modern performance trapeze boat that is not a skiff. That means it works well and sails in light winds. There is nothing else on the market that fits those requirements.”

— Chris, Bristol, ALTO 109

“I love the way the ALTO gives you the speed and thrills of a skiff but has manners and handling that allow you to focus on the race, not just surviving.”

— Jon, Oxford, ALTO 115

“I sail an ALTO because it's a boat that can be sailed to 95% performance across a full range of conditions by an average club sailor”

— Ian, Kent, ALto 117
